Dinal Ekanayake didn’t speak until he was seven.
Now, at 19, he’s making up for lost time — not just by speaking, but by doing an astonishing number of things most of us wouldn’t dream of on a good day.
Dinal has ADHD, autism, and an intellectual disability. But neither he nor his family ever let any of that get in the way of his goals and achievements.
Today, he’s a competitive athlete in ten (yes, ten!) sports, including triathlons, horse riding, and basketball. He’s also a game design enthusiast.
Moreover, he serves as a Health Ambassador for Special Olympics UAE, championing the rights of People of Determination across the country.
This is not just a story about medals and milestones. It’s about a boy who wouldn’t give up, a family that never stopped cheering, and a community that knew when to listen — and when to push him forward.
